Tucked into the Derwent Valley, Hagg Hill Farm is a privately cared-for 22-acre landscape of orchard, woodland and open fields. An intimate collection of countryside stays, nature-led experiences and handcrafted seasonal work is taking shape here.

Expect solitude, imperfect mobile reception and the simple pleasure of being outside. Our approach is discreet and unhurried: rustic comfort, room to think and the sort of quiet that cannot be manufactured.

Stay at Hagg Hill

The Cottage

A peaceful countryside escape for couples, with an enclosed patio, its own entrance and views across the valley. Private, self-contained and dog-friendly, the cottage offers space for two to slow down and enjoy time together. Currently available to book through Airbnb and Booking.com.

Roots & Restore — In the Orchard

Our adults-only orchard sanctuary is developing slowly, with The Hut, Dotty and The Static forming a small collection of individual places to retreat. A dedicated Treatment Hut will sit within the orchard, separate from the Woodland. These stays and facilities are being prepared; availability will be announced when confirmed.

Camping Fields

For self-sufficient adult travellers, simple park-up stays offer a quiet base among the fields. Drinking water is available, but there are no toilets, showers, electrical hook-ups or waste-disposal facilities. Prior arrangement is essential.

Find your own pace

The Woodland

The ancient woodland is a place for wildlife, dappled light and quieter moments. ‘Switch Off in the Woodland’ is an emerging, small-scale experience; access is by arrangement, not an open public trail.

The Meadow Fields

The meadow landscape is being allowed to find its own rhythm, with long grasses, new planting and an evolving, productive relationship between the land, wildlife and the seasons. Low-impact camping circles are part of the future vision, not yet an available booking option.

All Bells & Thistles

Floristry with a difference: bespoke wreaths, seasonal botanical work and small creative workshops, made by hand at Hagg Hill Farm.

Nature-led, rather than prescribed

Wellbeing here begins with natural surroundings: fresh air, the stillness of the orchard, a sheltered woodland and the freedom not to fill every hour. Roots & Restore is a nature-led sanctuary, not a conventional wellness space or retreat.

This remains an evolving farm. Some buildings and spaces are in restoration, the landscape is changing, and the person welcoming you is often the same person doing the planting, maintaining and making.

You may find limited mobile signal. The holiday cottage has its own Wi-Fi, but we do not have fibre broadband, and speeds and reliability can vary. You will find plenty of space, country sounds and an opportunity to disconnect.
